Horsemen shocked by Hawassa, Adama aims to capitalize

Week 13 of the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) action will resume with second placed Adama City facing Defense FC at the Addis Ababa Stadium on Tuesday while rivals Dedebit travel south to gain maximum points from the game against Hadiya Hosana on Sunday.

Earlier matches were played yesterday with Saint George traveling to Hawassa and Sidama Coffee entertaining Dashen Beer. The Horsemen were shocked by Hawassa City with a 2-1 defeat. Hawassa City striker Firdawek Sisay open the scoring on the 53rd minute but the Horsemen were on level terms after 15 minutes with a goal coming from veteran national team defender, Degu Debebe. However, a stoppage time goal by the hosts appalled the visitors sending the home fans in utter exhilaration. Winger Ashcalew Girma scored on the 92nd minute collecting all three point for the home team.

Elsewhere, 4th placed and title contenders Sidama Coffee drew in front of home fan against Dashen Beer – a team fighting to avoid relegation.

The other Sunday fixture will see this season’s surprise team Dire Dawa City entertain Arba Minch. On Tuesday Woliata Dicha will face Ethiopia Coffee while Defense FC will play against Adama City.
