At critical time Ethiopia is, you are asking U.S to not support Ethiopia now means if there is civil war or disintegration the U.S will look another way if you submit this petition. Meles Zenawi’s legacy is dividing Ethiopians along the line of religion and region while setting up Apartheid System with the Tigre minority ethnic group at its peak.

Unfortunately, it is a disgrace that the United States with Black African American low level officers like Susan Rice, and that useless lady under Bush are resposbile for this tragedy that we find ourselves in.

In Ethiopia, as in most of Africa, certainly President Obama was leading from behind or not leading at all.

Allow me to add my appreciation to those expressed earlier. This was a clearly articulated essay that transmited the truth on behalf of many Ethiopians who could have not expressed themselves in the manner Ato Olanna did. The editor of ER, Ato Elias, also deserves to be thanked for posting such an elequent essay which surely will be read by appropriate persons in the US administration.

The US administration, whether headed by a Democrat or Republican, should know that their strategic ally in the troubled Horn of Africa region is the majority of the Ethiopian people. Naturally, these millions have no way to demand detailed report on how Mrs. Rice’s children are doing or to share with her stories regarding their families. This however doesn’t mean they are not cognizant of the deep strategic interests Ethiopia shares with the USA.

What Susan Rice had said at the mass murderer funeral, not only made me angry, it has also frightened me to know the US govt. put incompetent people like Susan Rice to be Ambassador to UN. I’ve been wondering, if we Ethiopians have the right to know what kinds of gifts might have been given or not given to Susan Rice by dictator Meles who used the Ethiopian treasury as his own personal bank account. Olana, as it is known, wise and that stands the truth is not the era these days for these type of people. So be vigilant and take care of yourself. Such leadership from you is wanted for Ethiopia.

On another note. I doubt U.S is anti Ethiopia. I believe the U.S is hijacked by a group of fanatics bent on destroying democracy within U.S and as that happens do they really care what happens to Ethiopia? No. So this U.S election may even end democracy. It is my prayer every night to safe guard U.S because as it is and its people, it is a great country that could lead the world to right direction. We need such a trustworthy writer feeling the inner wounds of all Ethiopians. Meles the serpent has inflicted so many wounds to fellow True Ethiopian patriots by killing and or throwing them to jails. It is a very good analysis. I think US diplomats are saying now is not the time for Ethiopia to get democracy. US agreed with Meles and said to us ‘wait, now is not the time’, which reminds me Martin LK’s letter from Birmingham. He said, freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it has to be demanded by the oppressed. The cup of our endurance runs over, we need to be united and get our freedom. I agree it is a well-written document. And if Meles is Amrecia’s “son-of-a-bitch” the Sunsan Rice is clearly his mother… Unless Obama quickly appoligoizes, all Ethiopians-Amercians MUST let him know that he won’t get their vote, especailly those in a critical swing-state of Virginia.
