Muhammad Shaban seals Ethiopian Coffee switch after Gor Mahia deal collapse

Uganda Cranes forward Muhammad Shaban has secured a move to the Ethiopian top division with Ethiopian Coffee after his proposed transfer to Kenyan giants Gor Mahia fell through.

The prolific striker has agreed to join Ethiopian Bunna SC, popularly known as Ethiopian Coffee FC, where he is expected to play a key role in their attack. He was most recently with Libyan Premier League club Al Anwar.

Reports from Addis Ababa reveal that Shaban will be officially unveiled later this week upon signing a one-year deal with the club.

Shaban’s career began at Onduparaka FC, where he guided the Arua-based side to their first-ever promotion to the Uganda Premier League in 2015. His breakthrough performances earned him moves to KCCA FC and Vipers SC before trying his luck abroad with Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca.

In Ethiopia, Shaban will not be short of familiar company. He will team up with a host of Ugandan players, including Brian Ahebwa, Geoffrey Wasswa, and Nafian Alionzi, who are already featuring in the Ethiopian Premier League.
